Title
Barnin Tobacco
Artist
Doug Strickland
Medium
Painting - Oil On Canvas
Description
This is a painting of what I remember of what it was like to help 'barn' tobacco on my uncle's tobacco farm in rural North Carolina. Way back then, they used mule drawn sleds or carts to bring the tobacco from the fields to the barn, where it was tied on sticks before being hung in the barn for the flue-curing process.

I love, love, love your artwork. I get so many requests for paintings that represent the "olden days" and yours are always the ones I go to for reference. This one, in particular brings back many memories (I would just as soon forget). I was raised on a tobacco farm so I completely identify. Your paintings are wonderful!
