Description
This is a painting of a rundown rural farmstead on a dirt road at sunset. There is a man with a cane walking down the road looking toward the glowing windows of the house. It's obvious someone is at home, but it's unclear if the house shown is the man's destination. He is enduring his continued journey, just as the house and barn are enduring the ravages of time.

Is he looking at the house because it is his house or is there a memory emanating from the house? An image that doesn't evoke thought might as well be a blank canvas. I am a photographer but I know there is much to learn from paintings like 'Endurance' that have it all: great composition, use of color to create mood and something to think about.
